The vibrant Italian hospitality market also brings with it innovative formats dedicated to the experiences one can have in our country.
With this in mind, buildings and spaces are being redeveloped. This is the case of Santo Versace's former private residence in Milan, at Via dei Giardini 16.
Remaining many years on the market, it was sold for 33 million euros (against the 48 million euros demanded for a long time by the owner) to a pool of investors who are redeveloping it to open the first club The Wilde in the world.
Il Sole 24 Ore was able to make an exclusive visit to the construction site where all those involved in the redevelopment are at work. They are working on the renovation of the building, of which all the floors and furniture have been changed, for the next opening.
"We have chosen to open this club with spaces for socialising and three restaurants, a club bar, a more classic Italian cuisine restaurant and an innovative one with exotic flavours," says CEO for Italy Marco Olivieri. "The company that owns it is Via dei giardini srl, which is ready to open the doors of the club in October, and in the strategy of the owners will soon replicate it in London and New York.
"The building is spread over 2,000 square metres on four floors with a garden of over 400 square metres and an equally large rooftop," says the managing director. "We have upgraded the entire structure, even making changes to the depth of the balconies.
The inner garden is an oasis of peace overlooking other gardens that surround several historical buildings on Via Manzoni, including Palazzo Borromeo d'Adda. The villa was built in 1953-1954 and designed by architects Carlo De Carli and Antonio Carminati.
