Club TV is launched, making its debut on channel 61, with advertising revenue going to 24 ORE System
The Netweek Group is relaunching the channel with a new brand and a schedule focused on football. With the advertising rights awarded, the Group company Il Sole 24 ORE joins IlSole24OreTV on channel 63
Channel 61 on digital terrestrial television is getting a makeover and becoming Club TV. Leading the advertising sales for the new television project is 24 ORE System, the advertising agency of the Il Sole 24 ORE Group, which has secured the licence for the channel developed by the Netweek Group – an integrated media ecosystem combining television, digital and Connected TV, with a strong regional presence, and is overseeing its relaunch.
A new brand, a new identity and a cohesive programme schedule: Channel 61 is evolving into Club TV, a name that evokes a sense of belonging, a place to meet and exchange views, a space in which to share ideas and ways of expressing oneself. An identity that embodies a television service that is increasingly interactive and close to its communities, with the aim of transforming the national channel into a genuine meeting place for people united by shared interests, who come together around programmes capable of fostering a sense of familiarity and establishing routines; no longer simply an audience, but a community, built first and foremost around football, through a recognisable television offering, comprising several programmes throughout the day and enhanced by well-known presenters.
The focus is on the daily prime-time slot with “Il Club del Calcio”, a programme presented by Claudio Brachino alongside numerous pundits, featuring analysis, statistics, transfer news, interviews and in-depth features on the key figures in the Italian and international football world, presented from an editorial and journalistic perspective, from Tuesday to Friday at 9.00 pm, as well as weekend programmes. And on Mondays, the long-running sports talk show “Il Processo di Biscardi” with Maurizio Biscardi revives the tradition of “Il Processo”, bringing to television the exchange of views, discussion and debate on the main issues in football, with guests and contrasting opinions. Rounding off the football line-up are the 1 pm news bulletin on “Maracanà”, the “A tutta C” programmes with updates and rumours from Serie C, and the late-evening feature “Un amore di stadio”, which puts the stories and emotions of the fans centre stage.
It’s not just about football, nor is it just about sport in general, however: the schedule is in fact rounded off by a series of programmes in which the Club’s theme serves as a unifying force for the audience’s interests: from news to travel to wellbeing, starting with “Il Club del Mattino”, featuring the morning’s news, and “Aria Pulita”, the programme that offers a glimpse into current affairs through the voices of ordinary people, followed by programmes dedicated to lifestyle topics and in-depth analysis in the 7 pm and 11 pm slots. Among the titles expanding the range of content are: ‘Il Club dell’Economia’; ‘Gulliver’; ‘Viaggi Straordinari’; ‘Argonauta’; and ‘Medici e Medicina’.
The award of the Club TV licence on channel 61 forms part of the Il Sole 24 ORE Group’s wider development strategy in the television sector with IlSole24OreTV, its own TV channel on channel 63 of digital terrestrial television, with editorial content that combines news and specialist interests through exclusive formats and original productions. The new Club TV project on channel 61, with an integrated presence across digital and streaming platforms, complements this asset with a more specialised offering centred on football, thereby expanding the editorial and commercial scope covered by 24 ORE System.
