Colombia, military plane crashes: 66 dead

The death toll of a plane crash in Colombia yesterday, where a military transport plane with 128 people on board, mostly soldiers, crashed shortly after take-off, is 66 confirmed dead.

This was reported by Bogotá's Defence Minister Pedro Sanchez, who said that the accident involving Lockeed Martin's Hercules C-130 occurred shortly after take-off from Puerto Leguizamo airport in the southern Amazon region bordering Peru.
