Ca' Foscari University of Venice enriches its teaching offer for the academic year 2023-24 with the launch of a new Advanced Course entitled"Communicating complexity". The proposal of the Advanced Courses (the other four scheduled are "Critical histories of management", "Financial management and corporate reporting", "Organisation and decision making", "Strategy and innovation management") aims at offering a course of advanced training dedicated to the in-depth study of issues of great relevance, scientific dissemination or research approach. All this as an enhancement of the skills acquired in the traditional course of study.

The training objectives of the 'Communicating Complexity' course cover multiple areas of interest: to name but a few, the development of the skills required to disseminate scientific knowledge in a simple and comprehensible manner; the world of the media (Radio, Television, Print Media, Web and Social); vocabulary and methodologies of popular language; the art of dialogue and body language; defining objectives, targets and public engagement strategies.

At the end of the teaching phase, participants will have acquired the ability, based on their scientific knowledge, to write popular articles and to speak in public (seminars, radio, television, web), adapting their communication style to the medium used.

The new Advanced Course consists of three different modules, each of which is closely integrated with the others to form a single teaching and learning block, entitled: Preparing for Disclosure; Media Languages and Techniques; Communication Methods and Strategies.

For each Advanced Course module, the University provides 6CFU (course credits), for a total of 12 CFU or 18 CFU (as in the case of the course 'Communicating Complexity'). A Bachelor's degree is required for admission. After passing the final exam, participants will receive a certificate of the course they have completed and an Open Badge, a digital certification attesting to the skills they have acquired.

Enrolment is free for all students regularly enrolled in Ca' Foscari's Master's and PhD courses, but they are also open to external users who will be asked to pay an enrolment fee (at a reduced rate for those already enrolled at another university).

The "Communicating Complexity" course will take place from Monday 1 July to Friday 19 July, with a total of 6 hours of teaching per day in the time slots 10.30-12.00; 14.00-15.30; 15.45-17.15. Final examinations will take place during the week of 22-26 July.
