"Pope Leo, in his audience at the III World Meeting on Human Fraternity, reiterated the courageous "no" to war and the "yes" to peace and fraternity, recalling the words of Pope Francis in Fratelli Tutti: "realise how much a human being is worth, how much a person is worth, always and in any circumstance". From this square, from the symbolic embrace drawn by Bernini's colonnade, we want to send the message of universal fraternity to the world: we do not simply feel part of Humanity, but we feel the whole of Humanity as part of us, especially the suffering, the violated, the hungry, the sick, the naked, the imprisoned. So many women, this, but not only this, teach us every day".
With these words on Saturday evening, Cardinal Mauro Gambetti brought the Holy See's greetings to the many people who attended, in Rome, crowding St. Peter's Square and Via della Conciliazione, the "Grace for the World" concert that closed the event on human brotherhood. Some sources estimated the presence of over one hundred thousand spectators. Andrea Bocelli opened the show. The music was accompanied by images in the sky made by Elon Musk's brother's drones.
"Pope Leo," continued Cardinal Gambetti, "encouraged us to continue this work [...]. We need - he told us - an extended 'alliance of the human', founded on care, on gift, on trust. Thanks to the organisers, supporters, participants, witnesses and artists who help us spread this message to the world. To be together as brothers and sisters is beautiful and joyful, but to live it we must rediscover what it means to be authentically human. Dfrom the heart of Christianity, together with Peter we look to Jesus of Nazareth, to the Son of Man. .
Finally, a passage on peace and justice. "We wish," Gambetti concluded, "to spread perfume, to spread light, to speak good words like Him: be grace. We desire to be builders of peace, capable of compassion, of dialogue, of forgiveness like Him: be peace. We wish to promote dignity, to be just, to choose goodness like Him: be justice. We desire to be true, to be clear, to be free like Him: be freedom. We desire, in a word, to be human like Him: be human!
