Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, the weekend of excellence begins in Cernobbio with dream cars and supercars

The Concorso di Eleganza Villa d'Este in Cernobbio that has been held for over ninety years is a must for car enthusiasts. The event, which is one of the most exclusive and important in the world and has been sponsored by BMW Group Classic for a quarter of a century, extends from the gardens of the exclusive Villa d'Este hotel to the entire area of the elegant resort on the shores of Lake Como. The programme features fashion shows, exhibitions, events, anniversaries and absolute debuts put in the spotlight by Bmw.

The Concorso d'Eleganza parade on the terrace of the Villa d'Este will take place as usual on Saturday. The Best of Show will be designated by the Jury and awarded the BmwGroup Trophy on Sunday evening. In addition to the first prize, the participants and vehicles competing in the Concorso will vie for victory in their respective categories, the Coppa d'Oro awarded by public referendum, and a series of other awards such as the President's Trophy, which will be presented by Helmut Käs, head of Bmw Group Classic and President of the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este. Speaking of awards, Bmw Group Classic brand ambassador and world-famous tenor Jonas Kaufmann will once again present the Il Canto del Motore Trophy for the best engine sound, chosen by the jury. This year, on the terraces of the exclusive hotel on the shores of Lake Como, more than fifty exceptional cars will be presented to the jury, divided into the classes The dawn of the performance age, Shaped by the wind: the evolution of aerodynamics, The best car in the world for 120 years: Rolls Royce celebrates an historic birthday dedicated to the first meeting between Henry Royce and The Hon Charles Stewart Rolls, Faster! The arms race on the road, The best of Italian grace and pace: Maserati at 110, Gentleman drivers: style for the fortunate few, Time capsules: cars that outside word forgot and The need for speed: supercar stars of the video generation. Prizes will also be awarded in a special category to some spectacular concept cars. It is worth mentioning that in the late afternoon of Thursday 23rd, before the start of the Concorso d'Eleganza, the Prelude Tour will once again be the star attraction, taking historic cars from Lake Maggiore to the port of Cernobbio where they will be presented to the public.

Visitors (tickets on sale at https://www.ticketone.it/artist/concorso-eleganza/ at €29 for Sunday and €5 for Saturday) will have the opportunitỳ to attend the parade of all the Concorso d'Eleganza cars in the gardens of Villa Erba on Sunday. The festival day will also offer an incredible mix of culture, music and motoring attractions for the whole family: from the special cross-brand "Motorsport Icons" exhibition - which includes the presentation of all BMW Art Cars that have taken part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans to date - to a series of current motoring highlights and technical innovations from the BMW Group. Instead, on Saturday the Friends & Automobiles - Wheels & Weisswürscht event will take place at the same location, attracting around one hundred and fifty eye-catching cars from all brands each year. It should be noted that BMW will donate the proceeds of the Wheels& Weisswürscht / Amici& Automobili event to the municipal kindergarten of Cernobbio.
