The Concorso d'Eleganza of Villa d'Este on Lake Como, organised for more than twenty years by the Classic division of the BMW group, is an unmissable stage for the heritage not only of cars, but also of iconic motorbikes. This year it will take place over the weekend of 23 to 25 May. It is an opportunity for the Munich-based brand to celebrate both the 70th anniversary of the Isetta, the forerunner of urban mobility cars, but also to make its public debut of the M3 CS Touring, Bmw's most powerful model to date, marked M, the technological antenna of the brand's super sports cars. Bmw will present other previews: a sporty yet elegant model for a two-seater driving experience. A concept built by Motorrad, the brand's motorbike division, is expected.
The 50th anniversary of the Art Car Collection is also celebrated
.Bmw is also celebrating 50 years of the Art Car Collection this year, which has fascinated art and design enthusiasts as well as car and technology lovers with its unique combination of art and innovative car technology. The collection was conceived when French racing car driver and art enthusiast Hervé Poulain, together with Jochen Neerpasch, the then director of Bmw Motorsport, asked an artist friend of theirs, Alexander Calder, to design a very special car, indeed unprecedented on the market.
An Italian is the author of the thirteenth Art Car
The result of this idea was a BMW 3.0 CSL that competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1975, where it quickly became an enthusiast favourite. Since then, 20 artists, some of the most renowned in the world, have designed BMW models. At this year's Villa d'Este, the thirteenth Bmw Art Car will be on display, the one created by Sandro Chia, one of the greatest exponents of the transavantgarde and the only Italian artist to have created one of these masterpieces, making a Series 3 Coupé destined to race in the Touring Car Championship a unique one.
All 2025 Competition Appointments
On Saturday 24 May, the Amici & Automobili event will take place, reserved for the many clubs, including international ones, and motoring communities from all over the world, which will be able to display their jewellery - this year there will be around 150 in all - in the park of Villa d'Erba. On Sunday 25 May, on the other hand, there will be the traditional parade of cars that are entered in this year's Concorso: among them, one in particular: the Bmw i5 Flow Nostokana. These two days will also see an exclusive auction organised by the Hagert Group's Broad Arrow Auctions, which will be auctioning off three truly unique and rare BMWs: the iconic 1958 507 Series II, the 1981 BMW M1 and the 2000 BMW Z8.
The different categories of the Concours d'Elegance
