Monte dei Paschi di Siena and Confagricoltura have signed an agreement to facilitate access to credit for member farms and contribute to the sustainable development of Italy's agrifood sector.
Banca Mps, through its Mps Agridop and Energia Verde centres, specialised in the agri-food and energy sectors, will provide advice and accelerate credit assessment procedures to foster the development of projects, with particular attention to investments in renewable energy production plants, digitalisation, and all interventions that can facilitate companies in the path of alignment with ESG sustainability criteria.
"With this partnership, Banca Mps and Confagricoltura intend to set up a collaboration process," reads a note, "that will pool their respective experiences to improve investment capacity and simplify procedures for companies operating in the primary sector. The focal point of the agreement "is the creation of a permanent round table between the territorial structures that will make it possible to examine proposals and shared solutions, create vademecums and operating instructions for associates in order to facilitate access to facilitation measures that intend to undertake investments in innovation, especially in the sphere of economic and ecological sustainability and digitalisation".
"For Banca Mps, agriculture and the agri-food sector are identifying elements of the country and of Made in Italy, a strategic asset that also has a direct impact on the national economy," said Mps deputy director, Maurizio Bai . With this agreement, we strengthen our commitment to supporting innovation and sustainability in agrifood companies'.
"The cooperation with Banca Mps has already generated profitable interventions for the territorial structures and associated enterprises," said the president of Confagricoltura, Massimiliano Giansanti. "Today's agreement is further strengthened to become a stable platform of technical-financial services supporting the Confagricoltura system.
