"At the centre of European policy must return industrial policy"
.During the meeting,' the communiqué continues, 'the urgency of the moment being experienced by the Italian and European industrial fabric was emphasised: renewed focus on competitiveness is the right path to follow, but rapid and concrete action is now needed on key issues such as tariffs, energy and the reduction of bureaucracy that hinders growth. Industrial policy must return to the centre of European politics.
Orsini to EP, 'EU to act now on duties, energy and red tape'
"80% of our laws are shaped by European regulations. That is why today, together with over 100 entrepreneurs, we have chosen Brussels, in the heart of the European Parliament, for a frank and operational confrontation with the Italian vice-presidents of the Eurochamber, Pina Picierno and Alessandra Sberna, and with the heads of the delegations of the political groups in the hemicycle". This was written on social media by the president of Confindustria, Emanuele Orsini. "The urgency is clear: industrial competitiveness requires swift action on duties, energy and bureaucracy, because a favourable environment for investment and production is needed. It is time to relaunch European industrial policy, putting it back at the centre of every strategic choice. We have brought the voice of companies that believe in a Europe capable of guaranteeing effective rules and concrete support to those who create development and jobs. We cannot wait any longer: we must act now, with courage and determination'.
