Confindustria Imperia celebrates 100 years of history
Seven days of events to celebrate the long history of a local association which, since 1926, has been supporting businesses right up to the present day
A week of events, organised by Confindustria Imperia, to celebrate its 100th anniversary, at the Expo Salso in the coastal town, where an exhibition dedicated to the history and development of the local economy will be staged. The association of industrialists of western Liguria was, in fact, officially recognised by Royal Decree No. 1720 of 26 September 1926. In addition to the exhibition, the programme of events for the centenary includes shows, concerts, lectures, film screenings, conferences, guided tours and round-table discussions (organised with the help of numerous partners), which will conclude on 30 September.
“Every birthday is unique,” emphasises Luciano Tesorini, president of Confindustria Imperia, “but some are more important than others; and a centenary certainly is. That is why we wanted to mark the occasion in style, to recognise the great contribution made by our member companies in establishing and nurturing our association over the years. They are, in fact, the true stars of the major exhibition that we will be opening for a week to the general public – and, in particular, to schools – at the Expo Salso in Imperia, where all the accompanying events will also take place, starting with our centenary general meeting (on 25 September), for which we were keen to secure an exceptional patron in the form of Beppe Severgnini, who will give a lecture on the history of industry’.
The programme begins today, 24 September, with the performance Andiamo insieme by Marco Falaguasta, followed by a cocktail dinner. On 25 September, the Confindustria Imperia general meeting will take place, followed by the opening of the exhibition, curated by Fabrizio Pepino (Autorivari), Passaggi di tempo – Change as the driving force behind entrepreneurial development in western Liguria.
From 26 September onwards, all events will be free of charge and open to the public. The programme begins on that day with the official opening of the exhibition. The programme continues on 27 September with the talk ‘Artist’s Tin – The link between art and industry: from the history of olive oil tin production to Riccardo Guatelli’s sculptures and paintings made from tin’. This will be followed by the awards ceremony for the century-old companies affiliated with Confindustria Imperia.
On the 28th, a visit to the exhibition and a session on financial education with Sanpaolo Invest is planned for secondary schools. In the afternoon, there will be a talk ‘Businesses and Value: The Path Towards Benefit Corporations’, organised by Studio Parolini – Accountants for Benefit Corporations. On 29 September, there will be a guided tour of the exhibition for lower secondary schools, led by the writer Enzo Ferrari. Finally, on 30 September, there will be a round-table discussion, organised by Federico Marchi, entitled Confindustria Imperia: 100 years of history, between development and passion.
