Aniello Donnarumma, mayor of Palma Campania, a municipality in the province of Naples, ends up under house arrest for corruption. The Carabinieri of the Nucleo Investigativo of the Castello di Cisterna Group executed an order of precautionary measures issued by the Judge of the Court of Nola, at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Nola, against eight suspects (two under house arrest, three to the non-custodial coercive measure of the prohibition to stay, three to the interdictory measure of the prohibition to contract with the Public Administration for the duration of one year) investigated for various reasons of corruption, disruption of public tenders, forgery, misrepresentation and unauthorised subcontracting.
The recipients of the order, in addition to Aniello Donnarumma, include two municipal employees and five entrepreneurs. The precautionary measure is the culmination of articulated investigation activities, conducted between 2021 and 2022 by the Nucleo Investigativo with the help of the Carbonara di Nola Station, on what is alleged to be a system of special interests and dynamics of a clientelistic nature in the authority.
