Crans, the public prosecutor's office is asking for 400,000 francs for the bail of Jacques and Jessica Moretti
The Court for Coercive Measures will have to decide on the application
Four hundred thousand francs, that is about four hundred and thirty thousand euros, for the bail of the Moretti couple. That would be the request of the Prosecutor General's Office in Sion for the release of Jacques and Jessica Moretti, the owners of the Constellation in Crans Montana, Switzerland, where 40 people died in the New Year's Eve fire (including six Italians) and 116 were injured.
200 thousand each
This was reported by Swiss television station Rts, explaining that it is a sum to be divided - thus 200,000 - for each of the two spouses. The Coercive Measures Court has yet to rule on this application.
The charges
The owners of the premises are charged with manslaughter, wounding and arson. The French businessman is currently in prison and his wife is subject to certain precautionary measures such as an obligation to sign and a travel ban.
The government is a civil party in the trial
In the last few hours, meanwhile, the Undersecretary to the Presidency of the Council, Alfredo Mantovano, has informed the families of the victims, received by Pope Leo XIV, that the government will be a civil plaintiff in the trial. He will also ask the European Commission to do so.
