Crypto: Sam Bankman-Fried loses appeal against fraud conviction

The fraud conviction and 25-year prison sentence handed down to FTX co-founder Sam Bankman-Fried have been upheld by a federal appeals court, which rejected his claims that he had not received a fair trial.

Today, 12 June, a panel of three judges refused to overturn the 2023 guilty verdict against the former tycoon of cryptocurrencies claimed had been tainted by improper decisions regarding the admission of evidence. Bankman-Fried may attempt to appeal to the full court of appeal or to the US Supreme Court.
