Cuba: opens up numerous sectors of the economy to private operators

(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Cuba is opening up numerous sectors of its economy to private operators. The announcement comes just a few weeks after Parliament approved a package of 176 measures in favour of a market economy. The operation of petrol stations, pharmaceutical services, port infrastructure and waste management are among the many sectors which, according to official announcements reported by state media, will now be open to private enterprise.
