Eight hundred events, agreements announced for a value of 1.76 billion Euros, over 1,300 visiting official delegations: these numbers would be enough to certify the Italian success at the Osaka Expo. In addition to the notable presence of the public and the important feedback from the media, the Italian Pavilion was able to achieve a key objective that had been set at the outset: to be a strategic stronghold for economic diplomacy and growth, offering institutions and companies not a catwalk for its own sake but a concrete showcase of opportunities, an outpost for building relationships and long-term projects. The economic dimension was the main focus, with 210 events dedicated to internationalisation and economic diplomacy, and around 7,500 company representatives involved. Within the Pavilion, contracts and investments worth Euro 1.766 billion were announced or signed, in industrial, technological and manufacturing sectors.
