Dacia, already very strong in the B-segment, now has its sights set on the C-SUV segment with its new model called the Bigster. And to make the new Bigster attractive, Dacia aims to offer a solution that combines comfort, performance and roominess and, above all, an affordable price.
The new Bigster is built on the CMF-B platform (the same as the Duster and Renault Captur), which thanks to its flexibility allows the SUV to boast ample interior dimensions to match its versatility. In fact, we are talking about a C-Suv that is an impressive 4.57 metres long, 1.71 metres high and 1.81 metres wide. The wheelbase is 2.70 metres, while the ground clearance is 22 centimetres.
Benefiting from these dimensions is first and foremost the load capacity, with a boot volume of up to 667 litres VDA. But in addition to this, it will certainly please the rear passengers to know that they have a legroom of a good 22 centimetres.
Dacia Bigster: comfort for pleasure trips
.The new Bigster has been developed with an eye to the needs of customers in the C-Suv segment, incorporating details and finishes designed to guarantee respectable comfort. This starts with acoustic insulation guaranteed by thicker windows and optimisation of engine noise. The seats allow lumbar adjustment for the passenger while the rear seat has a reclining backrest. Warm and cool are provided by Bi-Zone climate control, with rear passengers enjoying dedicated air vents.
Dacia Bigster: robustness and sustainability
.In terms of aesthetics, it is clear that Dacia's designers focused on offering a distinctive style for the Bigster, carefully choosing the graphic elements on the front, front doors and rear above the number plate. These details, combined with the use of a mix of gloss and matt black, give the Bigster a touch of elegance. Dacia also places a strong emphasis on the Bigster's eco-smart appearance. Materials and solutions have been used that reduce environmental impact and ensure durability. The lower bumper plates, both front and rear, are dyed at source, an important detail that makes these parts more sustainable and durable. In addition, the use of Starkle, an innovative material used for the protectors that wrap around the entire body, including the sides, wheel arches and underside of the bumpers, is another key feature of the Dacia model.Inside the cabin, driving information is conveniently brought together on a digital instrument panel, available in 7- or 10-inch versions depending on the trim. The multimedia system, on the other hand, is displayed on a central 10.1-inch touchscreen, which is standard on all versions. An elegant green line visually connects the two screens, creating a harmonious design that extends across the dashboard. In addition, depending on the version, the Bigster offers three types of centre console for the front seats: low, medium, or a raised version with armrest, refrigerated compartment, induction charger and large storage compartment.
Dacia Bigster, YouClip system arrives
.Dacia's new Bigster introduces YouClip (already seen on the Duster), a system of smart accessories that can be fixed at strategic points in the passenger compartment: on the dashboard, on the side of the passenger console, at the rear of the centre console, in the boot and inside the boot door. These accessories include a touchscreen tablet holder, a case, or a smartphone holder with or without an induction charger. Other options include a hook and an innovative '3-in-1' device that functions as a cup holder, bag hook and nomadic lamp. All YouClip-compatible accessories are available in the Dacia network.
Dacia Bigster, four engines and there is also LPG
Bigster will be launched in four powertrains. It starts with the Bigster Hybrid 155, the first Renault Group model to benefit from this new hybrid technology. With a 107 hp four-cylinder petrol engine, supported by two electric motors (one 50 hp and a starter/high-voltage generator) and a 1.4 kWh battery, Bigster ensures excellent performance and efficiency. The clutchless electrified automatic transmission system provides a smooth driving experience, with regenerative braking to recover energy and move around town up to 80 per cent of the time in 100 per cent electric mode. For those who want more power, there's the TCe 140 which uses a new generation 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system and a 6-speed manual gearbox. Dacia does not forget LPG and the new Bigster will also have a version with this fuel, the Bigster ECO-G 140.
