From wine to IT: the 25 Knights of Labour honoured by Mattarella

From Abruzzo wine to IT, via sportswear. The productive fabric of Italia is back in the limelight with the appointment of new Knights of Labour. The President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, signed the decrees appointing 25 new Cavalieri del Lavoro (Knights of Labour), at the proposal of the Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, in agreement with the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry, Francesco Lollobrigida.
The nominations recognise entrepreneurs and businesswomen who have distinguished themselves in industry, agriculture, trade and services, representing the excellence of Made in Italy throughout the country.

The meaning of honour
The honour of Cavaliere del Lavoro is awarded annually by the President of the Republic to entrepreneurs who have distinguished themselves for merits in the national economy. The requirements include at least twenty years of continuous and autonomous activity, as well as behaviour marked by social responsibility, innovation and attention to workers. The Order of Merit for Labour, established in 1901, represents one of the most prestigious recognitions awarded to the Italian entrepreneurial class and valorises figures capable of contributing to the economic, employment and social development of the country.
