Danone: UK Competition Authority gives the green light to the acquisition of Huel

(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - The UK Competition and Markets Authority has given the go-ahead for Danone’s acquisition of the Huel group, which specialises in plant-based powdered foods, bars and meal-replacement drinks. The Authority had launched a preliminary investigation into the deal to assess whether the combination of the two groups’ businesses would reduce competition in the UK market, but has decided not to proceed to a further phase of investigation. The value of Danone’s acquisition is $1.2 billion.
