French actress Anouk Aimée, the unforgettable star of Federico Fellini's La Dolce Vita, opposite Marcello Mastroianni, has died at the age of 92. Among the films in which she starred were Claude Lelouch's Un uomo, una donna. "With my daughter, Galaad, and my granddaughter, Mila, we have the immense sadness to announce the passing of my mother, Anouk Aimée." This was the post on Instagram with which the actress's daughter, Manuela Papatakis, announced the death of the actress.
"I was right next to her when she passed away this morning, in her home in Paris," adds her daughter. Anouk Aimée, very popular but a true icon in Italy and France, made films Jacques Demy, Sydney Lumet, George Cukor, Julien Duvivier and many other great directors. She was born in Paris in 1932, her real name was Nicole Dreyfus, and began acting for the cinema in the 1940s. Her career took off with the Nouvelle Vague in the 1960s. With Fellini, in addition to La Dolce Vita, she also starred in 8 and 1/2. For the French, the film that made her immortal was A Man, a Woman by Lelouch, opposite Jean-Louis Trintignant, a film that earned her an Oscar nomination.
