Antonio Maschio died, founded Maschio Gaspardo agricultural machinery
He was co-founder with his brothers Egidio and Giorgio of the Campodarsego (Padua) company. Stefani: 'Veneto loses a captain of industry'. Zaia: "He was a leading entrepreneur"
Antonio Maschio, 87, co-founder together with his brothers Egidio and Giorgio of Maschio Gaspardo, a leading company in the agricultural machinery sector in Campodarsego (Padua), has died. This was announced by the President of the Veneto Region, Alberto Stefani, and the President of the Regional Council, Luca Zaia. "With the passing of Antonio Maschio," Stefani noted, "Veneto loses not only a great captain of industry but also a witness to the social and economic progress that swept through this land after World War II. A true champion of that entrepreneurial model that matured in small premises attached to homes but gave rise to companies that today dialogue with the entire world; like Maschio Gaspardo, of which he was one of the founders".
For Zaia, "a protagonist of Veneto entrepreneurship and agricultural mechanisation is missing: a man who was able to start from his manual work and transform his craft, hard work and ingenuity into a large company, rooted in the territory and capable of speaking to the world. The story of the Maschio brothers and the company tells of a season of redemption and collective construction, which is also the story of our Veneto region: from the production of the first milling machines to industrial and commercial growth, all the way to internationalisation. It is a trajectory that speaks of Veneto 'savoir faire', of the culture of work and the ability to innovate without losing the bond with the community'.
