Arturo Ferruzzi, son of Serafino of the Ferruzzi Group, died. He was 84 years old

Arturo Ferruzzi, son of Serafino Ferruzzi, founder - in 1948 - of the Ravenna-based agribusiness group of the same name, has died at the age of 84. The Ferruzzi group made headlines in the 1980s when it became a majority shareholder in Montedison.

After a sudden illness, Arturo Ferruzzi passed away yesterday evening in Noto, Sicily.

In 2001 he had married Maria Cristina Busi, the first female president of Confindustria Catania and owner of several Coca Cola bottling plants, who was also vice-president of the Espresso group in the 1990s. For some time Ferruzzi had moved his activities to Sicily. The funeral will be held in Ravenna next Tuesday at 11 am.
