Marcello Mutti, owner of the historic, eponymous Parma-based company specialising in tomato processing and preserves, has died at the age of 83. This was reported by the Gazzetta di Parma.
Born on Christmas Day 1940, after graduating in Economics and Commerce, he married Angelita Rossi, whom he met at university, on 19 September 1966. And from this marriage was born Francesco, Managing Director of Mutti since 1994.
"My father disappeared in the house where he came into the world. The house inside the company,' he told the newspaper. Marcello Mutti's was a life spent at the 'Court' in Piazza di Montechiarugolo, an entrepreneur 'who saw in the company,' continues his son Francesco, 'a value higher than just economic profit. His was a more rooted vision, focused on work, respect and planning'.
