Marco Ghigliani, CEO of La7, has died
The funeral on Monday 27 October in the Basilica of Santa Maria in Montesanto (Chiesa degli Artisti) in Piazza del Popolo in Rome
È morto a Roma, all’età di 60 anni, Marco Ghigliani, amministratore delegato de La7 dal 2012. “Anni nei quali ha sempre messo a disposizione dell’azienda la sua professionalità con straordinaria dedizione, passione e amore per il proprio lavoro, contribuendo in modo significativo al buon funzionamento di tutte le strutture, alla crescita e al successo della rete”, sottolineano sui profili social dell’emittente l’editore Urbano Cairo, il direttore di rete Andrea Salerno, il direttore del Tg La7 Enrico Mentana, le conduttrici e i conduttori, le giornaliste e i giornalisti, le dipendenti e i dipendenti, le collaboratrici e i collaboratori, esperimendo “le più sentite condoglianze e si stringono con affetto intorno alla moglie Simona, ai figli Bruno e Giorgio e a tutta la famiglia”. I funerali saranno celebrati lunedì 27 ottobre alle 11 dal vescovo monsignor Antonio Staglianò nella Basilica di Santa Maria in Montesanto (Chiesa degli Artisti) in Piazza del Popolo a Roma.
Born in Asti in 1965, with a degree in Sociology, Ghigliani had been CEO of La7 since December 2012, a position he confirmed (along with the delegation of general manager) in May 2013 with the acquisition of the company by the Cairo Communication Group, making a very important contribution to the company's recovery. In his career he has also been CEO of Cairo Network s.r.l., the company that owns television frequencies, and a director of Cairo Rcs Media, as well as vice-president of Confindustria Radio Televisioni. Previously he was also chairman of Mtv Italia and a director for the companies Telecom Italia Media Broadcasting, TM News and Effe TV.
Since February 2007, he has held the position of General Manager of Telecom Italia Media, with responsibility for the overall control of the television business through the coordination of the structures in charge of the management and development of the television broadcaster La7 and its multimedia products on the various platforms, as well as the technical and production support structures.
From 2003 to 2007, he was Human Resources Director of Telecom Italia Media. From 2002 to 2003, he was Human Resources Director of the Seat Pagine Gialle Group. In 2001, he was appointed Human Resources Manager of Telecom Italia's Milan Network Territorial Unit. From 1988 to 2000, he was with the Fiat Auto Group in the Personnel and Organisation Department, where he held various positions, including Head of Personnel and Organisation in various production plants. He was awarded the honour of Commendatore dell'Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana.
