More clarity in flows and more direct control over the supply chain: with these objectives in mind, the maison Christian Dior, the flagship brand of the Lvmh group, announced the creation of a new 'industrial department', which, according to a note released by the maison, will 'strengthen production capacity in the long term and ensure the continuity of its exceptional savoir-faire'.

Heading the department, as of 2 January 2025, will be Giorgio Striano, in the role of Chief Industrial Officer, who will report directly to Delphine Arnault, president and CEO of Christian Dior Couture and daughter of the founder of Lvmh, and will be a member of the executive committee. Striano will follow all of Dior's industrial activities. His CV includes the role of Chief Operating Officer at EssilorLuxottica, where he oversaw the group's production sites.

Another appointment is that of Nicolas Carré, formerly Industrial Director of Louis Vuitton Leather Goods and Accessories, who will join Dior as Industrial Director of Leather Goods, Footwear and Fashion Jewellery from 1 December 2024, replacing Patrice Guillemin, who was in turn appointed Industrial Projects Director. Carré was also Group Development Manager for leather accessories in the women's collection and Director of the historical ateliers in Asnières.

'It is more important than ever to support our different production processes at every stage, respecting ethical regulations, monitoring all the activities of the maison,' stressed Delphine Arnault.

Last June, the Autonomous Prevention Measures Section of the Court of Milan had placed under judicial administration Manufactures Dior, a company that is part of the Italian branch of Christian Dior, and which oversees the manufacture of the brand's travel items, bags and leather goods, with production hubs in Scandicci (Florence) and Fosso (Venice), a measure similar to the one it had already issued in previous months against Alviero Martini Spa and Giorgio Armani Operations.
