“With regard to the situation involving the student with a disability at the ‘Elena di Savoia – Francesco Caracciolo’ Institute in Bari, who has requested to be able to continue his studies until the Maturità examination with the support teacher who has been working with him for the past two years, the Ministry of Education and Merit (MIM) took immediate action, in coordination with the relevant departments, to find a solution in accordance with current legislation and in the best interests of the student”. The Ministry itself announced this in a statement, specifying that “in accordance with the ‘principle of reasonable accommodation’, designed to protect people with disabilities, and having secured the teacher’s agreement, a solution has been found that will allow her to continue providing support to the student for the coming academic year”.
