Dispensa Emilia opens first restaurant in Liguria
The Modenese brand lands at the Le Terrazze shopping centre in La Spezia. Managing director Medi: 'We are working on other openings in the region in the coming months'
The Modenese brand Dispensa Emilia lands, for the first time, in Liguria with a restaurant at the Le Terrazze shopping centre in La Spezia. This is the 55th opening for the brand and the eighth Italian region to see the presence of at least one restaurant outlet of the Emilia-based chain.
Le Terrazze is the main commercial pole in the La Spezia area, with over 100 outlets. Its location, just a few minutes from the city centre, easily accessible from the motorway junctions, and its proximity to the Cinque Terre, explains Alessandro Medi, managing director of Dispensa Emilia, make it a point of reference for both residents and the many visitors, including from cruise ships.
The brand was founded in Modena in 2004, and is the first example in Italy of traditional catering with fast service. It all began with the entrepreneurial intuition of the founder, Alfiero Fucelli, who had the idea of offering the quality of typical Emilian cuisine in a modern and technological key, with a format that combines the advantages of fast food, i.e. quick service and low price, with those of a restaurant, i.e. table service, fresh ingredients and freshly prepared. The food on offer is tigella, the thin round bread originating in the Apennines of Emilia, fresh pasta with homemade sauces, fried gnocco, salads and a selection of wines. Thanks to its initial success in the Modena area, Dispensa Emilia has taken traditional local recipes to eight other regions.
"We are very happy," says Medi, "to bring our format to Liguria for the first time. This opening represents a new milestone in our growth path and allows us to make known, also in this region, our idea of Emilian cuisine, made of quality, hospitality and conviviality. We chose the Le Terrazze shopping centre for its strategic location, being easily accessible and a reference point for residents and visitors: an ideal context to present our offer".
Liguria, Medi concludes, 'is a strategic territory for us, and we are currently working to define further openings in the region in the coming months'. The opening of the new restaurant has brought 15 new hires, including wait staff, kitchen staff, supervisors, and store managers. On a national level, the group employs more than a thousand people, with a network of restaurants that are all directly managed.
