Dolomiti Superski reaches agreement with the Competition Authority: refunds and discounts totalling 30 million for skiers
Refunds and vouchers totalling 30 million euros are set to be available from 15 October for skiers who purchased valley ski passes between 2022 and 2025
The Competition Authority has concluded, with thethe acceptance of commitments, bringing to a close the investigation launched in July 2025 into Federconsorzio Dolomiti Superski and its twelve member valley consortia, which had come under scrutiny for possible restrictions on competition in the setting of prices and the distribution of local ski passes.
According to the Italian Competition and Market Authority, certain provisions in the articles of association may have facilitated the coordination of valley ski pass prices and restricted the sale of tickets through third parties. To bring the proceedings to a close, Federconsorzio and its member consortia have undertaken to amend their internal rules, eliminating any form of coordination regarding the pricing and distribution policies for valley ski passes.
The agreement also provides for compensatory measures for consumers totalling 30 million euros.
Skiers who purchased day passes or multi-day passes during the 2022–2023, 2023–2024 and 2024–2025 from 15 October will be able to choose between a discount voucher worth 30 per cent of the amount spent or a direct refund of 20 per cent. The package comprises €18 million in vouchers and €12 million in refunds.
In addition to the compensation, there is a commitment to maintain, for the next five winter seasons, certain promotions and discounts already provided for the Dolomiti Superski super-ski pass, with an estimated value of around 20 million euros. According to the Authority, these measures are sufficient to mitigate any negative effects that the alleged agreement might have had on consumers.
