Donizetti Opera Festival kicks off with an OpeRave

In Naples the great Neapolitan sacred music; in Monte-Carlo the 18th Jazz Festival

The Donizetti Opera festival is opened by an OpeRave, with rapper Myss Keta sharing the stage with soprano Laura Ulloa, vocalist David Blank, and the dance company Fattoria Vittadini: this at the Globe Balzer, a venue known for jazz, blues, piano bar, live music, DJ sets, and stand-up comedy, in an underground club setting. In Naples, we listen to famous Neapolitan sacred music between the 16th and 18th centuries in the splendid churches of the great Mediterranean capital. Bergamo

From 14 November to 1 December the tenth edition of the Donizetti Opera festival. At the Globe Blazer "LU OpeRave" (14-21-29), in which Donizetti's music meets electronics and new trends; the reference is to "Lucia di Lammermoor". At the origin of "LU OpeRave" are Mixopera vol. 1 and vol. 2, the EPs of electronic music inspired by Donizetti's music and made by some of the most important European electronic musicians, gathered around the Fluidostudio label. The direction and choreography are by Mattia Agatiello, on stage the Fattoria Vittadini dance company; the performers are soprano Laura Ulloa, vocalist David Blank and performer Myss Keta as narrator, a fusion designed to speak to audiences of all generations.

At the Teatro Donizetti, the operas 'Roberto Devereux' and 'Don Pasquale', conducted by Riccardo Frizza and Iván López-Reynoso. A modern premiere, at the Teatro Sociale, of 'Zoraida di Granata'.

Naples

From 10 November to 1 December, six concerts of the Napoli Musica Sacra Festival in important city churches. Opening at the Church of S. Eligio is the Cappella Neapolitana with its director Antonio Florio. A musical journey through great Neapolitan music, from the 16th to the 18th century, including Pergolesi, Durante, Scarlatti and Jommelli. It concludes on 1 December at the Girolamini with the modern premiere of Niccolò Jommelli's Mass in D major. Free entrance

Monte-Carlo

From 17 November to 1 December at the Opéra Garnier the 18th Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival. The numerous concerts include the Count Basie Orchestra, the big band at the origin of the Kansas City style; Dee Dee Bridgewater and saxophonist Stefano di Battista; AYỌ and the Cape Verdean singer Mayra Andrade; the pop-funk of Level 42 and the Cuban rhythms of Cimafunk, the afrobeat of Seun Kuti.
