Dr Automobiles has signed a strategic alliance with one of China's top three car manufacturers, namely Dongfeng. Together with the Wuhan-based company, Dr Automobiles plans to relaunch the British Tiger brand in Europe, which was acquired in 2022 from founder Jim Dudley.
Taking advantage of the Dongfeng platforms, Dr Automobiles will bring Italian styling to the table to produce cars that meet the aesthetic requirements of European motorists, not to mention all the homologation aspects needed to sell cars on the Old Continent.
The three planned models, which will be available in the second half of 2024, are a 4.5-metre long SUV with a 1.5-litre petrol engine and 177 hp, with DR Automobiles' Termohybrid petrol/LPG technology. Its full optional price is expected to be 27,900 euros. The second model will be an MPV, again with dual petrol/LPG but with a 197 hp engine. The final price will also be 27,900 euros. Finally, a 7-seat multispace HEV is planned, with a length of 5.2 metres.
