DR Automobiles and Chery expand their partnership
A new cooperation agreement has been signed, but this does not preclude the Chinese giant from entering the Italian market on its own in the coming years with other brands from its wide galaxy.
DR Automobiles further tightens its collaboration with the Chinese giant Chery, which has been China's leading car exporter in our country for 23 years in a row. The new cooperation agreement confirms that Chery will continue to supply selected models to the Italian brand from Macchia d'Isernia to be marketed under its various brands. The renewed agreement will serve to strengthen DR's offer, even though it leaves open the possibility of exploring further business opportunities within the Italian market as well.
Chery plans an even larger presence in Italy
Chery is not, however, precluded from entering Italy independently, with different models and through a newly established dedicated network. After making its official debut in Italy with the Omoda & Jaecoo brand, the Chinese colossus is, in fact, planning an even more substantial landing in the coming months with new brands from its galaxy, starting with Lepas and iCaur. The Chinese group of Wuhu is among the leaders in automotive exports, so much so that it represents one of the most advanced technological poles even at a global level.
DR celebrated record registrations in 2025
The agreement will allow DR Automobilies to continue its growth process on the basis of petrol, diesel, full hybrid, plug-in hybrid and full electric models, 80% of which are bi-fuel/LPG powered. A reality that in 2025 registered over 34 thousand vehicles, setting yet another record in Italy. To do this, DR Automobiles will continue, from now on, to count on the technological contribution of a global manufacturer such as Chery, the first and still one of the main exporters of cars from China to all the most important international markets.
