The investment that Dr Automobilies is preparing to make in Macchia d'Isernia increases by 20 million: a project announced in July, with an initial budget of 50 million rising to 70.
In the area where the Molise-based automotive company has always been present, a new plant will be built for the complete production of new models in which at least 300 new employees are expected to be employed.
The investment in the Molise site had already been announced last July, in Japan, during the Osaka Expo. On that occasion, the CEO of DR had spoken of 50 million euro. A little over a month later, the DR group has planned an upgrade of 20 million, which was necessary to support an expansion of the project.
Work in progress at the Anagni site
Meanwhile, work began on revamping the industrial site of Saxa Gres S.p.a. in Anagni (acquired last 7 August by Jarama, a wholly-owned subsidiary of DR Automobiles), which used to produce porcelain stoneware and will now be used for some of the activities that the DR group already carries out at its headquarters in Macchia d'Isernia. In Anagni, 67 workers from Saxa Gres who were absorbed by DR will also be employed. The Anagni site, due to its location close to the A1 motorway and well served by a railway station, is of strategic importance in DR's plans for further expansion.
