At the crack of dawn, the Carabinieri of the Nucleo Investigativo di Roma executed an order, issued by the Gip of the Court of Rome at the request of the Anti-Mafia District Directorate of the Capitoline Public Prosecutor's Office, ordering the precautionary detention of 13 people, suspected, for various reasons of criminal conspiracy aimed at trafficking, sale and possession for the purposes of drug trafficking, possession and illegal carrying of weapons and ammunition of war, handling stolen goods, grievous bodily harm, extortion, attempted robbery and attempted murder, some of which were aggravated by having acted in a mafia-like manner.

Among them, according to LaPresse agency, is the former boss of the Banda della Magliana, 75-year-old Raffaele Pernasetti, known as 'er Palletta', now a cook in the restaurant 'Oio A Casa Mia' owned by his brother in the Testaccio district. In the operation coordinated by the Anti-Mafia District Directorate of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Rome, Manuel Severa (already in prison for the murder of Cristiano Molè in Corviale on 15 January 2024, editor's note), Manolo Bardeglinu, Alessandro De Angelis, Claudio Di Lodovico, Simone Di Matteo, Danilo Livi, Fabrizio Marinucci and Daniele Medori were also arrested and taken to prison. Under house arrest were Daria Di Silvestro, Manuel Peccia, Fabiola and Damiano Piacenti.

Also among the suspects at large are Alessandro Capriotti, known as 'il Miliardero' or 'il Fornaro', whose name emerged in the investigation into the murder of Fabrizio Piscitelli, aka 'Diabolik', the former leader of the Irriducibili della Lazio, who was killed in the Acquedotti park in August 2019, and Alessandro Corvesi, the former Lazio Primavera player who, after his arrest for drugs, wanted to kill the two magistrates investigating him.

Several quantities of drugs and weapons were seized.

According to the reconstruction by the Carabinieri, Raffaele Pernasetti occupied the role of broker and middleman for the purchase of large quantities of cocaine in the dismantled organisation. The headquarters where meetings with members of the association took place were allegedly inside his brother's restaurant in Testaccio. The crimes of criminal association for the purpose of trafficking, sale and possession for the purpose of trafficking in narcotics, possession and illegal carrying of weapons and ammunition of war, handling stolen goods, grievous bodily harm, extortion, attempted robbery and attempted murder, some of which were aggravated by having acted in a mafia-like manner, are alleged.
