Ducati unveils the new DesertX Rally
At the Ducati stand, the new version of the off-road model is on display, alongside the Diavel V4 (model year 2027), the Sp versions of the Panigale V2 and V4, and the Streetfighter V4
Key points
Ducati is set to unveil a host of new models at EICMA 2026, including the new Rally version of the DesertX, designed to tackle the most demanding off-road terrain and drawing on the manufacturer’s experience in rally raid competitions. The 890 cc V2 twin-cylinder engine delivers 110 cv and 92 Nm and is paired with an aluminium monocoque frame. The chassis features fully adjustable KYB closed-cartridge suspension, with 250 mm of travel at the front and 240 mm at the rear, 21-inch and 18-inch Takasago Excel tubeless rims, and an Öhlins steering damper. The specification is rounded off by Brembo brakes, a reinforced skid plate, a Termignoni titanium exhaust and an 18-litre fuel tank. The electronics include six Riding Modes, a six-axis inertial platform and a 5-inch TFT display. The seat height is 900 mm from the ground. The Ducati DesertX Rally will arrive in European showrooms in April 2027, including a 35 kW A2 version.
Ducati Diavel V4 and V4 S MY2027
Ducati has revamped the Diavel V4, emphasising its sporty character without compromising the ‘muscle roadster’ personality that sets the model apart. The updates relate to the design, the electronics and the arrival of the new V4 S version. At its heart remains the 1,158 cc V4 Granturismo engine, delivering 168 cv and 126 Nm, now paired with a revised electronic throttle control system to ensure a smoother response at low and medium revs. The Ducati Quick Shift 2.0 gearbox also makes its debut. The chassis retains the aluminium monocoque frame and single-sided swingarm, whilst the V4 S stands out for its Öhlins Smart-EC 3.0 semi-active suspension. The Brembo Stylema brakes with twin 330 mm front discs and Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres remain unchanged. Updates include a 6.9-inch TFT display, standard turn-by-turn navigation and a USB-C port. The Ducati Factory Made programme also allows the bike to be customised directly at the factory. The new Diavel V4 and V4 S will be available at Italian dealerships from January.
From the track to the road:Panigale V2 Sp and V4 Sp
Ducati is preparing for the return of the Panigale V2 to the World Supersport Championship with the new SP version, developed and homologated for the 2027 season. Derived from the V2 S and refined using the experience gained through the V2 Future Champs Academy, it brings racing-derived solutions to the production bike. The specification includes Öhlins suspension, a longer swingarm and forged wheels, which reduce the overall weight by 1.5 kg. There are also new features for the dry clutch, paired with Ducati Corse Performance oil. The 890 cc V2 twin-cylinder engine, Euro5+ approved, delivers 120 cv and 93.3 Nm. The aluminium monocoque frame is paired with a Brembo M50 braking system, fitted with 320 mm front discs. The electronic control system utilises a six-axis inertial platform and the Quick Shift 2.0 gearbox.
Ducati has also updated the Panigale V4 SP, a limited-edition model designed for the track and featuring the Winter Test livery: matt black surfaces, red detailing and a brushed aluminium fuel tank. The 1,103 cc Desmosedici Stradale engine delivers an impressive 218 cv and features the Ducati Racing Gearbox with Neutral Lock, which positions neutral below first gear. The aerodynamic package, featuring biplane wings and Corner Sidepods, increases downforce by 25 per cent at 270 km/h. Öhlins Smart EC 3.0 suspension and a Brembo MCS brake booster complete the specification. The Panigale V4 Sp will arrive in European showrooms from March 2027, in a single-seater configuration.
Everyday Warrior
Ducati is refreshing its range in the high-performance naked bike segment with the Streetfighter V4 SP, a limited-edition and even more exclusive version of the range. It is distinguished by its ‘Winter Test’ livery, inspired by Ducati Corse bikes, featuring matt black finishes, red detailing and a brushed aluminium fuel tank. The 1,103 cc Desmosedici Stradale engine develops 214 cv at 13,500 rpm. This special edition focuses on weight reduction and riding precision, thanks to carbon fibre wheels, the STM dry clutch and components derived from racing. Braking is handled by Brembo, with an MCS pump that can be adjusted whilst riding, whilst the Öhlins Smart EC 3.0 electronic suspension allows the set-up to be adapted to different conditions. The specification is completed by machined, adjustable footpegs and numerous carbon fibre components. The Streetfighter V4 SP will arrive in European showrooms from March 2027, exclusively in a single-seater configuration.
