Dws acquires a logistics site in Lodi
The building, covering more than 30,000 square metres, is equipped with a 1.6 MWp photovoltaic system, which will be able to fully cover the building's energy needs.
Dws (global asset manager) finalised on behalf of the real estate fund Europe II - an open-ended core institutional fund - the acquisition of a newly developed modern logistics hub located in Borgo San Giovanni (Lodi), developed and fully leased to the logistics giant Dhl.
The new building, which will be completed in December 2025, is located in a strategic position near the Lodi motorway exit and covers an area of approximately 31,500 square metres, within a total area of 67,000 square metres. The complex has been designed according to the highest criteria of environmental sustainability, in compliance with the European Taxonomy, and will be Leed Platinum certified. The building is equipped with a 1.6 MWp photovoltaic system, which will be able to fully cover the building's energy needs. The project has also provided for infrastructural interventions that will benefit the entire area, including the construction of a new road and cycle path, helping to improve the urban quality and accessibility of the logistics hub.
"In line with our strategy, this transaction confirms DWS's ability to operate in the Italian market by selecting excellent logistics assets of high quality and fully aligned to the needs of global operators," said Giuseppe Colombo, head of real estate Italy at Dws.
"The transaction with Dhl represents the result of a strategic investment path conducted with great attention to quality and environmental sustainability requirements," added Federico Palmieri, head of transaction real estate Italy at Dws. Operations of this kind further strengthen the role of logistics as a central investment class in Dws' real estate strategies'.
