Dyson V16, the most powerful cordless hoover that defies hair and dust
Smart yes, but heavier and more expensive. Lots of good ideas for the new Dyson V16 Piston Animal Submarine that raises the bar in the cordless hoover segment.
More powerful, (a little) heavier and with a few more ideas. The new Dyson V16 Piston Animal Submarine, as its name suggests, was born with a clear vocation and is intended to mark a turning point in the cordless hoover line.
The first piece of good news is for those who have pets. This writer lives with a dog and two cats and therefore lives with pet hair. The new appliance from the British company has a new cleaning head designed specifically for untangling long hair. It works: two rotating conical bars instantly untangle hair up to 63 cm long, winding it in a spiral. Moreover, this hair never gets caught in the bars, as it is sucked directly into the dust container.
On thick carpets, on the other hand, the new 'All Floors Cones Sense' brush head makes the difference: the conical rollers push the hair outwards and reduce tangles, a historical weakness of electric brooms.
The V16 also introduces a mechanical mechanism dubbed 'CleanCompaktor'. In practice, a piston compresses the dirt in the tank, increasing the capacity and making emptying more hygienic. It's a clever idea, but not a perfect one: residue and dust still stick to the inner walls.
There is also a connection to the MyDyson app: it monitors usage, signals when to clean the filters, shows the amount of dust sucked up. A useful, though not indispensable, function.
