While waiting for the fine weather that seems to be struggling to appear, in the rare flashes of good weather and mild temperatures, it is possible to eat in the many restaurants throughout Italy that allow you to eat outdoors, or even just in a dehor with a view. Some also offer special cuisine or dishes. Below is a selection that is certainly not intended to be exhaustive, but only to propose some food and wine occasions with a view.
CORTILE ARABO - Address: Vicolo Villadorata, Marzamemi (Syracuse). On the rocks of Marzamemi in the province of Syracuse stands Cortile Arabo, an 'Osteria di Mare' that is mirrored on the sea, as the tables almost touch the Mediterranean expanse. A gastronomic offer based on fresh fish, Marzamemi being a historic fishing village. And to celebrate the colours of the sea, there is a large outdoor area dominated by the white colour of the tables, chairs and white tablecloths, complemented by blue details. To this syncrasis of pigments are added arabesque-style details, recalling the Moorish past of the land of Scylla and Charybdis.
CLASSICO - Address: Via Marcona 6, Milan. Classico trattoria & cocktail is the Murray family's latest entrepreneurial project, a venue with a large interior garden in full Art Nouveau style, where, amidst period tables and chairs that combine Art Deco details with trendy fabrics such as velvet, an elegant lounge is evoked in an Old Milan context. The synergy between cuisine and cocktail bar, the two souls of Classico, is the hallmark of the restaurant, to be enjoyed at no. 6 Via Marcona. A signature of the gastronomic proposals of Classico Trattoria&Cocktail, from lunch to dinner, is chef Massimiliano Ciocchetti who, through his cooking, succeeds in representing the deep bond with the territory and Italian raw materials..
TESTONE - Address: Via Vigevano 6, Milan. Testone, the first chain dedicated to the traditional Umbrian torta al testo, presents a large outdoor dehor with over 100 seats in the Darsena area. The unmistakable style of the Testone premises with its exposed brickwork and rural-industrial design is present, with an open kitchen and fireplace, where Testone is produced before the customers' eyes. Testone's torta al testo takes up the centuries-old Umbrian tradition, the most faithful to its origins, without yeast or added fat. A dough of flour, water, bicarbonate of soda and salt, baked on a circular stone called a 'testo', which became red-hot under the embers of the bivouacs, while the cake was covered with ash on the other side while baking.
LA MADERNASSA - Address: Reg. Lora 2, Guarene (Cuneo). La Madernassa di Guarene is a starred restaurant, resort and 15,000 square metre organic park boasting over 400 herbs, from sprouts to edible flowers. It is a structure immersed in a forest that is a great lung of oxygen in the splendour of the Piedmontese Langhe. This is an oasis in which flora and fauna are protected, harmonised and narrated with passion. In addition to the large green areas including an autochthonous wood, there is an open-air bistro area inside the structure, which from the wooden solarium enjoys an enviable view of the Langhe and Roero panorama. This service is also complemented by the panoramic outdoor swimming pool. The green areas surrounding La Madernassa are functional for the structure itself, since it is from the vegetable gardens and greenhouses that most of the raw materials used in the star-studded gastronomic proposal entrusted to chef Giuseppe D'Errico come.
