In a country that still lags far behind the EU average in terms of women's participation in the world of work and especially in the top ranks of professional organisations, telling the stories of women who have made it, who have broken the 'glass ceiling' or are striving to do so, is crucial.

The project and the award

.

With this aim in mind, for the past three years Il Sole 24 Ore, in collaboration with Financial Times and Sky Tg24, has been organising 'WE Award - Women Excellence 2025', an award dedicated to women who, through vision, determination and talent, generate positive impacts in society.

The award, which received 345 nominations in 2024, is part of the "Women at the Top" project, launched to celebrate female excellence and learn about the human and professional paths of many prominent female protagonists. Once again this year, the award ceremony will take place during the "Women at the Top" event, which will be held on 18 November at the Giorgio Gaber Opera House in Milan. Nominations can be submitted until 13 October.

The nominations

In continuity with last year's edition, there are no age or field of action limits and two different modes of nomination are possible: either directly, by the person who intends to submit a nomination, or indirectly, by those who wish to nominate stories of deserving women with whom they have had the opportunity to interact.

Once the candidatures are closed, the mechanism of initial analysis, selection and assignment to the most related category will be opened in order to then submit to the Jury a qualified shortlist of candidates for the final victory in each field. Five have been identified for the 2025 edition: Business & Management; Social Economy; ESG, Welfare & CSR; Training & Research; Innovation.

The organising committee will also have the opportunity to award some special mentions, dedicated to stories deserving attention.

The jury
