The second world championship of electric motorboats will be enriched by the seventh and final stage: the E1 Dubrovnik Gp 2025, presented by Adriatic Luxury Hotels, will be held in the historic Adriatic city on 13-14 June. Known for its medieval architecture and UNESCO World Heritage status, Dubrovnik will provide a breathtaking backdrop for the nine teams that will compete against each other in their E1 RaceBirds. Spectators will be able to watch the race from the ancient city walls of Dubrovnik, as the race course will be located between the Old Town and the island of Lokrum. The final calendar of the second Uim E1 Championship presented by Pif is therefore as follows: in addition to the two races already held on 24-25 January in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) and 21-22 February in Doha (Qatar), the RaceBirds will be in Dubrovnik on 13-14 June, on 27-28 June on Lake Maggiore, on 18-19 July in Monaco, on 4-5 October in Lagos (Africa) and, seventh and final stage, on 8-9 November 2025 in Miami (Florida).
The RaceBirds in Africa
.The race in Lagos (largest city in Africa) will therefore mark an important milestone for the Championship, which continues to expand with races already scheduled in Europe, the Middle East and North America. With a population of around 21 million, Lagos is considered one of Africa's most innovative and forward-thinking cities with the ambitious goal of embracing sustainable tourism and new technologies.
Aiming to bring a touch of glamour to the Nigerian metropolis of Lagos and to stimulate investment in Africa, the league features nine teams owned by a host of high-profile talents: African football legend Didier Drogba, Nfl icon Tom Brady, Nba champion Lebron James, Hollywood actor Will Smith and tennis superstar Rafael Nadal. All in line with E1's goal of accelerating the development and spread of electrified marine mobility and supporting the regeneration of coastal environments.
Sustainable Initiatives
.An African consortium comprising the Didier Drogba Foundation, the Lilium Capital Group, the Fund for export development in Africa (Feda) and the African export-import bank (Afreximbank) impact investment platform has been set up to promote the race in Lagos. "We are delighted," said Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Executive Governor of Lagos State, to bring the world's most exciting electric racing championship to Lagos, one of the most exciting cities in the world. E1 is using sport and competition as a platform to promote sustainable initiatives that are so crucial for coastal cities like ours. It is a source of great pride for me to welcome the championship and introduce our incredible city to a global audience."
"Bringing E1 to Africa," continued Didier Drogba, founder and co-owner of Team Drogba, "is a dream come true. I am thrilled to show the beauty of the continent and the warmth of its people at the Lagos race. This event will demonstrate the city's ambition to be at the forefront of technology and sustainability and makes me immensely proud to be the owner of an African team in E1'.
