The medical series The Pitt, which marks the return to the lane of Noah Wyle and the team of producers behind ER-Medics on the Front Line, won the award for Best Drama Series at the 77th Emmys, beating out the science fiction series Severance that came in with 24 nominations. British actor Stephen Graham took the stage three times at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles. The series will be released in Italy on 24 September on Sky.
After Best Actor and Best Screenplay, he also picked up the Best Miniseries award for Adolescence. To this latest production also went the award for Best Supporting Actor: to 15-year-old Owen Cooper, specifically, who emerged as the youngest male actor ever to be honoured by the Television Academy.
Same fate, but in the comedy category, for Seth Rogen, who lifted the statuette for The Studio, voted best comedy series of the past season. Standing ovation for Stephen Colbert who picked up his first Emmy for the evening show The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, which was not renewed for next season, in what many read as retaliation against the comedian, who is highly critical of US President Donald Trump's policies.
