Employment opportunities increase with the summer season
Gi Group is managing 4.8 thousand open positions for those seeking seasonal or long-term employment
Key points
In view of the summer season, employment opportunities are growing. The Italian employment agency Gi Group alone is handling 4,800 open positions aimed at both seasonal and long-term job seekers. Everything is linked to the tourist flows that give dynamism to the labour market especially in the summer period. For this reason, in the Horeca sector, Gi Group is looking for 500 profiles throughout Italia, such as restaurant workers, bartenders, waiters, cooks, kitchen commis, and pizza chefs. The opportunities are aimed at people with or without experience who are required to be available part-time or full-time, even at weekends and with evening shifts.
The dynamism of summer
"Summer is a particularly dynamic time for the labour market. Several sectors register a peak of activity and, as a consequence, the demand for personnel by companies grows significantly,' comments Giada Donati, Central Delivery Director of Gi Group. This opens up opportunities for very different profiles: from young people at their first experience, to seasonal workers - for example university students who want to take advantage of the break from classes to acquire skills - to candidates and experienced workers looking for new opportunities".
200 positions in access control
In Facility there are 200 open positions as access control, unarmed security, cleaning and receptionists in Lombardy, Piedmont, Liguria, Veneto, Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, Marche, Abruzzo, Apulia and Lazio. Candidates are required to have good interpersonal skills and to be available for full-time or part-time shift work.
Between large-scale retail and logistics
Then there is the large-scale organised distribution and retail sector, where there are 500 open positions throughout Italy for sales staff, cashiers and counter staff. "In this case too, the opportunities are for people with or without experience, who are required to be available part-time or full-time, even at weekends and on public holidays," the company says. Further opportunities come from Logistics, one of the sectors that never stops, which is growing by 180% compared to 2025. In this case, 2.8 thousand profiles are being sought among warehouse operators, picker operators, forklift truck drivers, and airport handlers, particularly in Lombardy, Piedmont, Lazio, Veneto, Emilia-Romagna, Sicily, Trentino, and Liguria. In Fast Moving Consumer Goods, 350 agricultural and food workers are sought in Emilia-Romagna, Apulia, Piedmont and Lombardy.
The Open GDay
Another sector that experiences a peak in demand during the summer months is Customer Care. In this area, the search focuses on 250 inbound customer care employees mainly in Calabria, Apulia, Lombardy, Piedmont, Lazio, Veneto, Sardinia and Sicily. "Summer is an excellent time to take advantage of new job opportunities, but it can also be an opportunity to embark on a training path, refine skills already acquired or develop new ones," concludes Donati. "This is why we have chosen to repropose, from June to September 2026, the Gi Group Open Days as part of the initiative 'Beyond Summer 2026: open the doors to your future'".
