Deputy Prime Minister and Minister <b>Matteo Salvini, Minister of Infrastructure and Transport</b>, had advocated such a solution.

Specifically, the Enac resolution states that 'the carriage of pets in the cabin is permitted, housed inside a special pet carrier to be placed even above the seats, provided that they are adequately secured by seat belts or other anchoring systems.

The total weight of the animal and the carrier may be higher than the current limits, but not exceed the maximum weight for an average passenger'.
