Enac, aircraft fuel monitoring kicks off

The Pacta Foundation, as part of the permanent observatory dedicated to the air transport sector, wants to start monitoring the fuel supply chain to support Enac and the institutions. The proposal comes from Pierluigi Di Palma, President of the National Civil Aviation Authority and of the Foundation's Institutional Committee, at a delicate international moment, marked by tensions in the Middle East and the possible effects on energy.

At the moment there are no problems at Italian airports, but the global situation suggests a stable control system. This observatory will serve to monitor the entire jet fuel supply chain in advance: from production to refuelling, via transport, logistics and distribution.

This was announced in a statement by Enac and the Pacta Foundation, set up in 2022 to promote the decarbonisation of air transport and made up of 19 companies in the sector, including ADR, ITA Airways, Airbus, Boeing, Enel Foundation and Intesa Sanpaolo.

The observatory will be tasked with analysing the functioning of the supply chain, monitoring logistical dynamics and identifying possible problems, with the aim of making it more robust and resilient, especially in view of more sustainable and secure supply systems.

In the event of difficulties, it could also become a meeting point for industry operators to coordinate and offer common support to Enac and the institutions.
