On Wednesday 1 and Thursday 2 October, the Sole 24 Ore Italian Energy Summit returns to take stock of the challenges and opportunities facing the sector: as Europe moves forward on its path towards a sustainable energy future, the challenge of building clean, reliable and accessible energy systems is urgent and complex, amid critical issues such as decarbonisation, energy security and affordability.

The first day of the Summit, which will be held in Milan's Palazzo Mezzanotte and streamed, will look in depth at the challenges for companies in relation to the geopolitical situation and industrial policy choices, while the second day will focus on new sources of supply in Italy and Europe and on the issues of innovation and energy security. Speakers will include Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, Minister for the Environment and Energy Security, Vinicio Mosé Vigilante, CEO Gse, Gelsomina Vigliotti, Vice-President of the EIB, together with the CEOs of the main energy companies.

Sustainability Forum

Then, on 22 October, the Sustainability 2025 Forum will be held at the Auditorium della Tecnica in Rome, organised by Il Sole 24 Ore in cooperation with the World Children's Day and the Minister for the Environment and Energy Security. In the morning there will be the Young People's Focus with the awarding of the Sustainable School Prize, while in the afternoon the Business Focus will propose a high-level debate on the role of companies in the sustainable transition. This will be the occasion to award the winning companies of the fourth edition of the Sustainable Enterprise Award, the recognition that enhances Italian SMEs capable of integrating sustainability into their business models, generating measurable environmental, social and economic impacts. Starting at 2.30 p.m., the Focus Imprese will see opinion leaders, managers and representatives of institutions addressing the crucial nodes of the transformation underway: the possible combination of sustainability and competitiveness, the point of view of companies, the evolution of organisational culture, and the challenges of listed companies in the dual ecological and digital transition. Companies such as Acea, Conou, Enel, Eni, Italmobiliare, Marazzi Group, Masi, Purina and Siram Veolia, as well as the Prosciutto di San Daniele Consortium and the Ministry for the Environment and Energy Security will be among those bringing their own valuable testimony.

Participation in the Enterprise Focus is free, with registration at 24oreventi.com/forumsustainability2025enterprises
