Eni launches a 20 per cent discount on diesel and petrol for the agricultural and fishing sectors
Like the discount at the pump for members of the public, this measure will also remain in force until 31 October, but may be extended depending on market trends
Eni has announced the extension of the price reduction on fuels sold by Enilive to the agricultural and fishing sectors. The measure, which comes into effect on Friday 2 October, will enable agricultural and fishing vessels to purchase diesel and petrol at a 20 per cent discount, excluding VAT.
The decision, explains the six-legged dog, “forms part of Eni’s initiative for Italy: it follows on from the price cap on diesel and petrol prices applied at participating Enilive stations since 28 September and the fixed-price discount on electricity and gas tariffs recently announced by Plenitude. Eni intends to make a further contribution in solidarity with the country and two strategic sectors, namely agriculture and fisheries.”
Until 31 October
The discount will apply until 31 October and may be extended until the end of the year, depending on market conditions and product availability.
The roof that collapsed on Monday
This is therefore the same expiry date as the price cap applied at petrol stations for all members of the public. From Monday, this cap has set a maximum price of 1.99 euros per litre for petrol and 2.19 euros for diesel at the 3,847 petrol stations operating in Italia.
Refunds
Reimbursements vary depending on the type of petrol station: for those owned and managed directly, no compensation is required; for those entrusted to operators, Enilive will pay €1,500 to clear stock purchased before the announcement; at affiliated stations, which only use the brand, Eni will reimburse the difference between the contractual purchase price and the uncapped retail price. The measure, which came into effect yesterday, sets a maximum price of €1.99 per litre for petrol and €2.19 for diesel at self-service stations. It is valid for one month, but may be extended until 31 December.
