Environmentalists protest at the G7 in Stresa

Stresa - A 'green' off programme at the G7 finance ministers' meeting underway in Stresa. A banner of the activist network 'End fossil finance' appeared for a few minutes on a balcony of the luxury hotel on the Stresa lakefront where the meetings are being held and all the official delegations are staying. On the eve of the meeting, 'unwanted' guests such as some foreign journalists who had managed to book rooms in the iconic Grand hotel et des iles borromees overlooking Lake Maggiore were also moved out of the hotel. The G7 finance summit was in the crosshairs of the activist network that announced 'creative' actions in conjunction with the event. The silent but very visible protest lasted no more than a few tens of minutes . The banner was quickly removed.
