From experimentation to real impact. ESCP Business School, the world's oldest business school, announces a twofold step that redefines management education in the age of artificial intelligence: the full roll-out of ChatGPT Edu across its six European campuses and a strategic partnership with Hugging Face, the leading open-source AI platform founded by ESCP alumnus Clément Delangue.
With over 10.500 activated ChatGPT Edu licences and free access for the entire ESCP community - more than 12,000 students, faculty and staff - to Hugging Face tools, the university confirms its position as a global pioneer in the use of generative AI for teaching, research and entrepreneurship.
"By partnering with Hugging Face, our students, faculty and staff are not only learning about artificial intelligence, but also learning how to build it and use it creatively. This agreement reflects our Bold and United strategy and our belief that AI is not just a tool, but a new language for management and innovation. With this approach ESCP establishes itself as a true living lab of generative AI applied to management education. Our next goal is the development of AIM - ESCP Intelligent Assistant Multirole - a platform capable of redefining personalised learning, research and academic management, while stimulating a vital entrepreneurial ecosystem around AI," explains Léon Laulusa, executive president and dean of ESCP Business School.
More than 200 projects already underway
Thanks to its collaboration with OpenAI and the creation of a network of more than 1,000 internal 'AI Champions', ESCP has already initiated more than 200 concrete projects ranging from research support to immersive classroom simulations and customised student service solutions.
"Our first pilot projects have shown that, when guided by sound pedagogy, artificial intelligence can enhance critical thinking, discernment skills and creativity. Today we are breaking new ground with the ChatGPT Hackathons and the collaboration with Hugging Face, to create an ecosystem where students and teachers can not only use AI, but test themselves by building it and reflecting on its impact together," comments Prof. Francesco Rattalino, Executive Vice-President for Academic Affairs and Student Experience at ESCP Business School.
The agreement with Hugging Face brings a further step in this transformation
."I started my entrepreneurial journey right at ESCP fifteen years ago, so I am particularly excited to be able to give back value and support the next generation of innovators," says Clément Delangue, co-founder and CEO of Hugging Face and ESCP alumnus (Master in Management, 2012). "Artificial intelligence is transforming education and it is extraordinary to see a school with over two centuries of history firmly embracing this revolution. Thanks to our academic programme, ESCP students and teachers will not only be users, but will become key players in building AI through open science and open source, and all for free." With the launch of the AIM - ESCP Intelligent Assistant Multirole project, the Business School is preparing for a further evolution: personalisation of learning, advanced research, intelligent administration and incubation of AI-driven startups.
International Workshop
'Torino is today at the centre of this transformation. Our campus represents an international laboratory where academic tradition and technological innovation meet, and where students from all over the world can experience AI as a tool for cultural, professional and economic growth. Italy needs skills capable of combining critical spirit and entrepreneurial vision, and we are training the new generation of leaders who will lead the country and Europe in this direction," says Prof. Alberta Di Giuli, Dean of the ESCP Turin campus.
Through the systematic integration of ChatGPT Edu and the open-source technologies of Hugging Face, ESCP is inaugurating an educational model that does not just transfer knowledge, but develops new critical skills to face the world of work. In this way, ESCP confirms itself as a 'living lab' in which young managers and teachers together build new forms of human-machine collaboration, fusing ethics, creativity and entrepreneurship. It is precisely this combination that makes the training experience unique in Europe: a place where people learn to think with and beyond AI, to transform it into a common language of leadership and innovation, and to make it a driver for the competitiveness of companies and national economies. With this double strategic move, ESCP Business School strengthens its mission: to train leaders capable of navigating the AI age with a critical spirit, responsibility and entrepreneurial vision. A commitment that stems from the university's historical values but looks to the future, with the ambition to create an educational model capable of inspiring the academic and managerial landscape globally.
