Essilux: Board of Directors unanimously reaffirms its confidence in Milleri and du Saillant
Board ‘committed to preserving stability in the interests of shareholders’
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Following criticism of the senior management by Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio, the EssilorLuxottica board has issued a swift response. The board, in fact, partly in response to ‘the public statements’, has ‘unanimously reaffirmed its full confidence in the chairman and chief executive Francesco Milleri, in the deputy chief executive Paul du Saillant, the management team and the group’s medium- and long-term strategy”, which has been approved by the board itself and “consistently confirmed by the strength of the results achieved”. But that is not all. The board “reiterates its commitment to preserving the stability and sense of responsibility that have always characterised EssilorLuxottica, in the interests of the group’s employees, shareholders, partners and customers”. Essilux shares on the Paris Stock Exchange have reversed course and are up 1.3 per cent at 151 euros, rebounding from their lowest levels in the last four years.
