Meanwhile, Ita Airways has announced that it has joined the Science Based Targets initiative (Sbti), a global initiative to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote environmental sustainability. By joining, Ita Airways voluntarily commits to submit, within the next 24 months, specific reduction targets on: CO2 emissions directly controlled by the company; indirect emissions related to the production of electricity, steam or heat; and indirect emissions from its own value chain.
