Retail, but also the search for new opportunities in residential, especially coliving, to replicate in Italy what is already being done in Spain. Eurofund Group - an international investment and development company known for its transformation of urban spaces - is creating Parma Promenade, the first open-air shopping resort in Emilia-Romagna. The ambitious redevelopment of the former Parma shopping centre, which is scheduled to open in June 2026, is an investment of around EUR 25 million.

With more than 52 thousand square metres of total surface area, Parma Promenade redefines the shopping centre concept by creating a shopping resort, 15 thousand square metres of which will be entirely dedicated to leisure and sport. The new development will offer a wide range of indoor entertainment options, including bowling alleys, virtual reality games and interactive areas, as well as an outdoor gym and 10 padel courts. More than 20 food operators will provide a diverse culinary offering, combining international brands such as KFC and Doppio Malto with local partners celebrating the rich gastronomic heritage of Italy's renowned Food Valley.

"Parma Promenade represents our commitment to redefine the concept of shopping and leisure, creating a destination capable of offering memorable, meaningful and shareable experiences," says Ian Sandford, President of Eurofund Group. "Our ambition is to transform Parma Promenade into a social and lifestyle landmark for Parma and the entire region, offering a unique, high quality experience comparable to the best European cities. We are excited to bring our international experience to Parma, creating a true shopping resort, where the leisure and dining area will be the largest in the Parma province'.

'Retail constitutes 90 per cent of our business, 10 per cent is living. We have been active for 30 years in Spain, Portugal, the UK, Germany and Italy,' Sandford explains, 'and structured in different business lines: Eurofund Retail and Living, which includes coliving spaces, such as Tribu in London, and senior living projects under the Luana brand. In 2022, the company made its first entry into Italy with the acquisition of Parma Retail, in collaboration with its strategic partner in the project, Signal Capital, to transform it into Parma Promenade, a business it finally purchased in 2024. The goal is to grow in Italy as well. We are looking for opportunities to buy and renovate both shopping centres and buildings to be transformed into co-living spaces. We are in negotiations. We expect to finalise shortly'.
