European elections, from Fdi to the PD: who are the front runners in the 5 constituencies

At 8pm on Wednesday, 1 May, the deadline for filing the lists for the five constituencies (North-Western Italy, North-Eastern Italy, Centre, South and Islands) for the European elections on 8 and 9 June expired. With the announcement of Giorgia Meloni and that of Carlo Calenda to follow, there are now four party leaders in charge. As for Fdi, the premier announced that she will do so in all constituencies. Calenda replied that he will do the same with his Action, together with Elena Bonetti. The deputy premier and leader of FI, Antonio Tajani, will be leader in four constituencies, all except the Islands (here Caterina Chinnici will lead the candidates). The Pd secretary, Elly Schlein, will lead the democratic lists in the South and the Islands.
Lega
The general Roberto Vannacci strongly desired by Matteo Salvini, thus raising not a few discontents in his party, will be capolista in two of the five constituencies (in the Centre and in the South). The leader in the north-west will be Silvia Sardone, in the islands it will be Annalista Tardino (with Vannacci right behind her), while in the north-east the list will be headed by Paolo Borchia.
Pd
Schlein left the top spot to Stefano Bonaccini (North East), Cecilia Strada (North West) and Lucia Annunziata (South).
Five Star Movement
.The front-runners are Maria Angela Danzì and Gaetano Pedullà in the north-west, Sabrina Pignedoli and Ugo Biggeri in the north-east, Carolina Morace and Dario Tamburrano in the centre, Pasquale Tridico and Valentina Palmisano in the south, Giuseppe Antoci and Cinzia Pilo in the islands.
United States of Europe
.As for the United States of Europe, the political and electoral project for the European elections launched by +Europa together with Italia Viva, Psi, Libdem and Radicali Italiani, the front-runners are Emma Bonino in the North West, Graham Watson in the North East, Giandomenico Caiazza in the Centre, Enzo Maraio in the South and Rita Bernardini in the Islands.
